A Golfers Paradise

Golf plays a significant role in our family. Both our sons are golf fanatics! Sean graduated in spring of 2016 from Oakland University in Michigan then turned professional in 2016. He is now assistant professional at Nairn Golf Club and Andrew is on a golf scholarship in Savannah, Georgia, USA. Andy has played golf all his adult life and is involved in Nairn Golf Club where he is a member.

We wanted to make Sandown House a haven for golfers as well as tourists. We understand the needs of the visiting golfer and can provide information on courses, flexible meal times, drying facilities and even transport to and from courses.   We are happy to offer exclusive use of Sandown for groups.

Here is why…

We are very lucky to be literally a stone’s throw from 2 stunning courses. Nairn Golf Club is a classical links course. Many major amateur competitions have been held here including the Curtis Cup and Walker Cup. Nairn Dunbar is close by and enjoys welcoming many of our guests.

Home to the Scottish Open several times – Castle Stuart Golf Links is only 15 minutes drive from Sandown.

Other courses, within 30 to 45 minutes include Forres, Hopeman, Lossiemouth (Old Moray), Elgin, Boat of Garten, Muir of Ord, Grantown-on-Spey, Muir of Ord, Culcabock, Fortrose and Rosemarkie and Garmouth & Kingston.

Within an hour you can be tee-ing off at Tain, Royal Dornoch and Cullen. Brora and Golspie are just a little further afield.
